  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup Dr. Pepper
  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 0.5 cup Dr. Pepper

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 15x10 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add Dr. Pepper, oil, and eggs; beat until smooth.
  • Gradually add boiling water, beating until batter is smooth.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • While cake is still warm, combine butter and powdered sugar. Add Dr Pepper and mix until smooth. Pour over warm cake.
