Preparation Steps

  • Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  • Gradually whisk in chicken broth until smooth. Add broccoli and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until broccoli is tender. Stir in cheddar cheese, salt, and pepper until melted and creamy.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use a combination of cheddar and Gruyere cheese.
