Instructions
Preparation Steps
In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
Stir in olive oil and salt.
Gradually add flour, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Punch down dough and divide into 12 pieces. Roll each piece into a breadstick shape.
Place breadsticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise for another 20-30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
While breadsticks are baking, mix melted butter, garlic powder, salt, and parsley.
Brush the topping mixture over the hot breadsticks immediately after they come out of the oven.
