  • 4 cups plain Cheerios cereal
  • 0.5 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 ounce dry ranch dressing mix for savory variation

Preparation Steps

  • Add the sliced butter to a 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium heat. Stir occasionally with a wooden spoon or silicone spatula until the butter is completely melted. Remove the skillet from heat.
  • Add the Cheerios to the skillet and stir to completely coat with melted butter. Serve while warm for the plain version.
  • For cinnamon sugar version, melt the butter as above, then stir in vanilla extract until incorporated. Add Cheerios and stir to coat.
  • Transfer buttered Cheerios to a large mixing bowl. In a small bowl, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle over Cheerios and stir thoroughly to coat evenly.
  • For ranch version, melt butter as instructed, add Cheerios and stir to coat. Sprinkle dry ranch dressing mix over Cheerios and stir thoroughly.
  • Serve all variations warm for best taste.
