Hot Buttered Cheerios is a quick and easy '80s snack made with simple ingredients for a warm, buttery treat. Choose from plain, cinnamon sugar, or savory ranch flavors.
Add the sliced butter to a 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium heat. Stir occasionally with a wooden spoon or silicone spatula until the butter is completely melted. Remove the skillet from heat.
Add the Cheerios to the skillet and stir to completely coat with melted butter. Serve while warm for the plain version.
For cinnamon sugar version, melt the butter as above, then stir in vanilla extract until incorporated. Add Cheerios and stir to coat.
Transfer buttered Cheerios to a large mixing bowl. In a small bowl, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle over Cheerios and stir thoroughly to coat evenly.
For ranch version, melt butter as instructed, add Cheerios and stir to coat. Sprinkle dry ranch dressing mix over Cheerios and stir thoroughly.
