- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme

- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and cook until caramelized, about 30 minutes.
Stir in flour, chicken broth, thyme, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.
Roll out pie crust and place in a tart pan. Pour onion mixture into crust. Top with Gruyere cheese.
