  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2.25 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour

Preparation Steps

  • In a large bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
  • Add salt, melted butter, and flour. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place dough in a greased bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  • Punch down dough and roll out to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut into 12 equal pieces.
  • Shape each piece into a ball and place on a baking sheet. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
