  • 0.5 cup frozen cherries
  • 4 cups water
  • 0.25 cup sugar or to taste
  • 1 teabag black tea
  • ice cubes for serving
  • fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Preparation Steps

  • In a saucepan, combine water and frozen cherries. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat. Add the sugar and tea bag. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Let steep for 5-10 minutes, or until desired tea strength is reached.
  • Remove the tea bag. Strain the mixture to remove the cherries. Let the mixture cool completely.
  • Serve the cherry iced tea over ice cubes. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.

Notes

This recipe can be easily adjusted for sweetness. For a stronger cherry flavor, you can muddle some fresh cherries before adding them to the water.
