Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 lb Beef Brisket about 1 inch thick
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 2 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Beef Broth

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
  • Trim excess fat from brisket, leaving about 0.25 inch layer.
  • In a small bowl, combine smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket.
  • Heat olive oil in a large Dutch oven or oven-safe pot over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket on all sides until browned.
  • Pour beef broth around the brisket.
  • Cover the pot tightly and transfer to the preheated oven. Bake for 5-6 hours, or until the brisket is very tender and easily pulls apart with a fork.
  • Let the brisket rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing against the grain. Serve with the pan juices.

Notes

Serve with mashed potatoes or your favorite sides.
