Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
Trim excess fat from brisket, leaving about 0.25 inch layer.
In a small bowl, combine smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket.
Heat olive oil in a large Dutch oven or oven-safe pot over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket on all sides until browned.
Pour beef broth around the brisket.
Cover the pot tightly and transfer to the preheated oven. Bake for 5-6 hours, or until the brisket is very tender and easily pulls apart with a fork.
Let the brisket rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing against the grain. Serve with the pan juices.
Notes
Serve with mashed potatoes or your favorite sides.
