Ingredients
  

Cranberry Sauce

  • 6 oz cranberries
  • 0.5 cup apple cider
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 0.25 tsp ground ginger
  • 0.25 tsp ground nutmeg

Baked Brie

  • 8 oz brie cheese round
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 0.25 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions
 

Cranberry Sauce

  • Add the apple cider, brown sugar, cinnamon stick, ginger, and nutmeg into a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring until the sugars dissolve completely.
  • Once dissolved, add the fresh cranberries and increase heat until the mixture boils.
  • Reduce to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes, or until most cranberries have popped and the sauce thickens.
  • Remove from heat and let the sauce cool before using.

Baked Brie

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Place the brie wheel in a shallow baking dish. Make a few small slits in the top rind to allow the cheese to melt evenly.
  • Top the brie generously with the prepared cranberry sauce.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until the brie is soft and slightly runny in the center.
  • Remove from oven and drizzle honey over the warm brie. Sprinkle with chopped walnuts if desired.
  • Serve immediately with crackers, bread, or baguette slices.

Notes

This appetizer is best served warm and pairs wonderfully with crusty bread or crisp crackers. The cranberry sauce can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator.
